The combined network of more than 750 Pilot and Flying J Travel Centers across North America now serves more than 1.2 million customers daily, the business added, and in relation to fostering the “future expansion” of its shop network, it is going to be “researching the purchase of current shops” to enlarge its footprint and provide more upkeep services to drivers. As parking remains a “high concern” among motorists, PFJ said it is designing its own upkeep stores independent from existing lots or in regions having minimal effect on existing parking and also “vehicle flow”
Pilot Flying J is likely to keep expanding its Truck Care division this year, with 11 shops now established as a member of its five-year planto add both mobile and fixed maintenance services within its U.S. truck stop community, together with seven more about the road by mid-year. The business is also focused on doubling its number of store locations by 2019, clarified David Latimer, PFJ’s vice president of shops plan. They supply tire sales and service, preventative maintenance, DOT Inspections, and mild mechanical and 24/7 roadside assistance across the West, Southwest, Midwest and Eastern regions on the nation, PFJ mentioned.
“One of the top priorities at Pilot Flying J will be to make drivers’ lives more comfortable and suitable while on the road,” Latimer noted. “Our entire focus will be to help stop from service violations for those most common issues,” he clarified. “Last year, if you came onto one of our properties with one of those problems, we’d have needed to let you go someplace else to get it repaired. Not anymore.”
Latimer — a longtime truck stop business veteran who established the Petro Stopping Centers community of maintenance stores and that joined PFJ at July of 2016 — said the real key to this corporation’s maintenance plan is taking care of that 70 percent of “common things” that lead to roadside security violations: tiresand wheel endings, and lights.
“Our aim is that whether you operate one vehicle or a fleet of 10,000, our shops may look after your regular upkeep needs,” he states. “Today, we’re not doing engine optimization and heavy work such as that. But we are doing the most ordinary planned and unplanned maintenance a truck operator encounters: oil changes, tire work, etc..”
